The Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs in conjunction with its Fundraising Committee and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company is pleased to announce Rae Henning from Sheboygan Falls High School as the winner of our 2007 $1500 scholarship. Her proud parents are Jay and Janis Henning of rural Sheboygan Falls. Rae is a very active member of the Sheboygan Falls Youth Sno-Riders Snowmobile Club serving as an officer and participating in many of their local events as well as at our State Convention and Workshop. She has also been very involved during her high school days participating in athletics, numerous clubs, and has maintained a very credible cumulative GPA to achieve National Honor Society membership. This busy young lady has volunteered numerous hours of community service beyond her 4-H club responsibilities and plans to further her education at UW La Crosse this fall.

This year’s AWSC second scholarship in the amount of $1,000 was awarded to Katelynn Zemke of Shoreland Lutheran High School. Her proud parents are Robert & Lisa Zemke of Racine. Katelynn is a very active, involved member of the Caledonia Sno-Lords and has represented her club in the Miss Snowflake Contest. She is also a Certified Junior Snowmobile Safety Instructor. During her high school days she has participated in athletics, music, and other extra-curricular activities as well as maintaining a notable cumulative GPA to warrant membership in the National Honor Society. She has served numerous hours of community involvement as well as taking on many responsibilities within her church. Katelynn plans to further her education this fall at Martin Luther College.

Lyla Schumann Scholarship
This year the Low Bucks Vintage Rider Snowmobile Club presented a $1,000 Scholarship in memory of Lyla Schumann. This scholarship was awarded to Aimee Theobald of Sheboygan Falls High School. Her proud parents are Scott & Nancy Theobald of rural Sheboygan Falls. Aimee has been a very important member of the Sheboygan Falls Youth SnoRiders Snowmobile Club, serving as a club officer plus planning and helping with numerous club events. While attending high school her list of involvement includes sports, class and club officer, mentor, along with 4-H & FFA membership. She has also contributed many volunteer hours to her community and plans to further her education this fall at Madison Area Technical College.
