AWSC Scholarship Winner

Ryan Teach

Ryan Teach, a senior at North Crawford High School of Soldiers Grove, the son of Allan & Lynn Teach of Gays Mills is this year's recipient.  Ryan and his parents are active members of the Ocooch Mountain Trail Riders Snowmobile Club of Readstown. He has been active in marking and maintaining several miles of trail in his area, along with land owner appreciation and other club events.

Our winner possesses the uncanny ability to maintain a very healthy balance of academic excellence while being involved in numerous school extra-curriculars, as well as community and his club activities. In addition to these qualifications, Ryan's essay portraying what snowmobiling means to him brought a vivid insight in to this superb young man's inner self and the deep appreciation he holds.

This fall, Ryan plans to further his education at Viterbo University in LaCrosse where he will pursue the medical field in the registered nurse anesthetist program.

Update 8/2008
I did graduate in December 2007 from Viterbo University in the fields of Business Management and Marketing. I had originally planned on going into hospital administration or becoming a nurse anesthetist, but when I took a marketing class I decided that was the route I really wanted to take. Upon graduation I was offered a position with Texpar Energy in Onalaska, WI where I worked with railcar dispatch and oil issues. Although I enjoyed this job, I wanted to get more into the area of study in which I graduated. I have recently been hired by Fastenol in a Marketing Coordinator Postion and am working at their world headquarters in Winona, MN. This is a new challenge in my career.

I became engaged in December, but no wedding date has yet been set. I am still snowmobiling and know that it will definitely be a lifelong hobby for me. I seem to go mostly to the Three Lake and Eagle River area where my parents have a cabin and I can spend the weekend. Thank you again for the scholarship - it was put to good use and meant so much to me.
